Today is National Celiac Disease Awareness Day, a day to recognize the millions of people living with celiac disease and celebrate the celiac community.

Celiac disease can bring challenges, changes and plenty of surprises you never expected. But even in the difficult moments, there can be unexpected positives along the way.

For the millions of people living with celiac disease, everyday experiences like sharing a meal or celebrating with family and friends can come with challenges that others may not see.

Being an ally starts with understanding. Take the time to learn about celiac disease, listen to those living with it and find ways to make life more inclusive.

Take a breath ☺️

For many people, celiac disease can feel chaotic, especially when every day feels so different.

It is important to remember that your habits and boundaries are allowed to adjust to your daily needs. Some days you may have more energy to go out to eat and try new things, and others you may prefer staying in familiar settings—and that is totally okay!

ALWAYS do what feels safest, and ALWAYS stick to a strict gluten-free diet if you have celiac disease. 🫶 Advocate for your needs. Your mental health and emotions matter.
