As a full-service comic book convention, The East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention (ECBACC, Inc.), the nation’s first full-service comic book convention and a 501(c)(3) non-profit literacy and arts organization, has a distinct cultural and historical mission that goes beyond selling, sharing, and trading comic books and related memorabilia / paraphernalia. Now in its 25th iteration (Saturday, May 16th), ECBACC Philly has provided one of the first professional venues for hundreds of Indie creators / publishers. A core component of the 5-fold mission is to establish a connection (ECBACC Synergy) between creators (artists, writers, editors, et al.) and aficionados (fans) to serve as a model / template for community-based conventions. ECBACC has sparked over forty-five (45) conventions nation-wide, from New York to California (US) and across the globe. Our work has inspired colleges and universities to introduce comic book classes as part of the curriculum, hiring select comic book professionals who were initially recognized and spotlighted by ECBACC Philly. Thus far, we have succeeded on every level. We have kept our convention free-of-charge for 23 of 25 years! Help us to make it so this year on Saturday, May 16th / 11a.m. – 7p.m. See here. https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-keep-ecbacc-2026-admission-free

FYI - Good day! Just sharing this post from our 20th anniversary celebration after coming across a plethora of copy-catted work parading as "creative" and "innovative!" What we (ECBACC Philly) can do is continue our forward movement centering our own images, NOT black versions of white matters, NOT caping for Marvel / DC / Image! I can name at least 50 Independent Professional Creatives (IPC's) who have stepped into the breach! Support them! Visit: www.ecbacc.com - Salute to 25 years of ECBACC excellence: an annual convention, mini-conventions, workshops, classes, lectures, cosplay, kid zones, film screenings, games, and more!
