Laura Roberts founded RAE. Intl. with the goal of helping students successfully research and write papers and theses. She's been doing this for over 30 years now and I believe that she would be an excellent resource for future students. She was instrumental in helping me pull together my Capstone paper. Her help was invaluable to me. I am certain that she could help other grad students…who need to prepare a Capstone/research thesis.

"Dr. Roberts is one of the best professors I have had…Statistics and mathematics have always been challenging subjects for me. Although I passed my university statistics courses…I did not truly understand most statistical methods. (She) is patient, uses visual models, and gives detailed and precise explanations that make even the most complex statistics easier to understand…she would give examples, then she would ask deep, thought provoking questions, requiring me to explain my thinking and demonstrate my understanding. Election Polling - Statistics are NOT the problem: Statistics are NOT wrong. The reason for polling unreliability is flaws in SAMPLING. I don't want to get too technical, but it must be said that pollsters have to do RANDOM sampling to get a good poll. Pollsters TRY to do random sampling, but it is impossible. They can only sample people who will talk to phone solicitors. When pollsters call, lots of people (me included) will send those calls to voicemail or simply direct them to spam or just don’t answer. A lot of us sidestep calls when we don’t recognize the caller’s number. My guess is there are important sub-groups of us who are completely missed even when pollsters TRY to use good methods. Polls are reliable if the samples are truly random. But they never are. (This problem, of course is just one of many reasons samples are not good.)
