The minor in Arabic focuses on intermediate and advanced language skills and an understanding of contemporary Arabic culture. Students who already have a grounding in Arabic and are interested in languages, literature, film, and culture will find this minor of particular interest. Awe-inspiring performance -a combination of monologues and Ethiopian songs - by Ethiopian-Italian storyteller Gabriella Ghermandi yesterday sponsored by my amazing Italian program colleagues from our fab department Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures.
The performance was a testament to the power of oral storytelling in preserving cultural memory.
Blown away today at Temple watching the Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture produced film The Travels of Ibn Jubayr followed by an amazing sonic journey with composer Maurice Louca and violinist Ayman Asfour.
