SWIPE Out Hunger Penn
SWIPE Out Hunger is an organization that allows Penn students to combat hunger in Philadelphia by donating their unused meal swipes.
We see an opportunity to help the hungry in West Philadelphia through the under-utilized resources of students on meal plans. Our SWIPE Out Hunger (Swipes) plan allows students to put pre-paid, unused meal swipes toward feeding the Philadelphia community. During two specified days this semester, an aisle of Gourmet Grocer will be stocked with non-perishable items requested by Philabundance. Studen

Swipe Out Hunger is BACK and we want YOU!
What is Swipe Out Hunger?
In partnership with Bon Appétit and the University of Pennsylvania, we give students the opportunity to help eradicate hunger in West Philadelphia by donating prepared, excess meal swipes from their meal plans.
Your Role:
Since our founding in Spring 2015, we have collected enough meal swipes to provide 33,000 meals to food insecure residents of Philadelphia.
This year, we are on track to do it again, and more! Not only will students on meal plans have the opportunity to donate, but we will host volunteer days at Philabundance and local soup kitchens, organize a profit share days at local businesses and a Sink or Swim at Smokes, as well as several other events that allow Penn students to do their part in fighting food insecurity.
If you are interested in joining the Swipes team, please complete this form by Monday September 25th.
