The Playhouse Nursery School Respectful "Edu-caring", Seasonal Nature Based Offerings, Child Led Investigations, Mixed Age Group, Welcoming Family Environment, Licensed & Insured, CCIS

The Playhouse is located in Upper Darby, just across from West Philadelphia, along the Cobbs Creek Trail. The Playhouse is accessible by the 42 bus route and not far from the Market Frankford Line. My home has a ground floor playroom that is our main classroom space. We are directly across the street from a nature trail and we walk along the trail to three different neighboring playgrounds. Our big back yard has a spacious patio, sandbox, and a garden where we grow veggies, herbs, and flowers. We also utilize a shaded fenced in play yard in my front driveway as well. So most of our day is spent outdoors unless it’s extremely hot, cold, or rainy. At "The Playhouse" I care for a group of 5 little ones, ages 3 months to 5 years. I take no more than two infants and/or young toddlers at a time. I operate year round, with the exception of a winter break and summer break. *The program operates on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:00am to 6:00pm.*

It is possible I may hire another teacher to provide care on Tuesdays and Thursdays as the COVID numbers continue to decrease. Occasional before and after care can be prearranged for an additional fee. I use an app called Tadpoles to send private notes about your child's day as well as photos of them at play! www.tadpoles.com

I provide a seasonal nature based curriculum that changes according to the interests and needs of the individual children and the group as well. Using a play based project approach the interests and ideas of the children that emerge are nurtured and creativity comes to life!
