I wanted to again share our clinical trial for dogs with metastatic osteosarcoma. The Comparative Immunotherapy Program at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary medicine is using Invariant Natural Killer T-Cells (iNKT cells) from healthy donor dogs to target metastatic disease in dogs with osteosarcoma.

The study is currently enrolling dogs who:
🩺Have a diagnosis of osteosarcoma
🩺Have previously undergone amputation and chemotherapy
🩺Now have evidence of metastatic disease in their lungs
🩺Have no other serious concurrent disease

The newly founded PennVet Comparative Immunotherapy Program (CIP) is recruiting for a ground breaking clinical trial using CAR-iNKT cells to treat metastatic osteosarcoma. We are investigating the safety and efficacy of this new treatment option in dogs with disease that has now spread to their lungs. We are using a new type of immunotherapy made from the cells of healthy donor dogs to target and attack osteosarcoma cells.

At this time the study is pre-screening dogs who meet the following criteria:

🐶 Body weight of at least 40lbs
🐶 Previous diagnosis of osteosarcoma
🐶 Previous amputation of affected limb
🐶 Previous treatment with standard of care chemotherapy
🐶 Evidence of measurable metastatic disease in the lungs
🐶 No significate concurrent disease (cardiac, kidney, etc)
🐶 Ability to travel to the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia, PA for all study visits.

This study is FULLY FUNDED by the National Cancer Institute. There is no cost to pet owners for any treatment related to the study.
