Dear Campus Community,

The story of LionShare could not have been told more beautifully than it was in Lion’s Roar:

http://sites.psu.edu/thelionsroar/2017/03/03/lionshare-bringing-relief-to-the-hungry/

Let’s applaud and give thanks to our talented student Abigail Capizzi and to Mr. Frank Quattrone for his supervision and guidance in the production of this piece.

As the story of LionShare continues, we are preparing to provide our first service to students in need on Wednesday, April 5th. The LionShare doors (Room 9 in Rydal) will be open from 12:00pm to 3:00pm.

In the process of getting ready for the opening, we are ending the food drive contest this week and announcing the winner by the end of business this Friday. (That is not to say that additional donations are not being accepted, please continue to donate.)

To those who would like to give us a hand making food packages, we say YES and welcome your help. Please join us for two hours of service this Friday, March 31, in Lubert Commons at Lares from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Light refreshments will be served.

Dear Campus Community,

Okay, we’re in the final stage now. It’s time for everyone to push to the finish line and get LionShare open. That sounds wonderful and exciting... but how? I’ll tell you how… There’s nothing like a little competition to create the kind of excitement we need about LionShare. If you have the spirit to compete, whether solo or as part of a team, see the rules at the end of this email. But let’s say you don’t want to compete, but you definitely want to donate. We’ll make it easy to give a monetary donation or drop-off food. Just bring your food donations to one of the drop-off locations in Woodland (by the library), Sutherland (by Solarium), or Lares (by the front desk). If you wish to make a monetary donation, bring a *check, money order, or cash to **Lares front desk or mail to:

LionShare
1600 Woodland Rd.
Abington, PA 19001

*Please make checks payable to: Penn State Abington- LionShare
**Please contact Mr. Albert Weinstein ([email protected] ; Phone: 215-881-7665), if you need a gift receipt for your tax deductible donation.

Acknowledgment: Many thanks to University Relations for providing us with the competition prizes and providing us with advertising services. The office of Student Life, Dr. Gary Calore and CIVCM 211 students for their efforts in organizing the contest. Ms. Wendy Richman for providing us with a list of healthy food.

Sincerely,

Dr. Fran Pahlevani
