It’s nearly September and school is back in session. Remember, drivers must stop at least 10 feet away from school buses with red lights flashing and stop arm activated.

Yellow lights on a school bus indicate the bus is preparing to stop.

If you’re driving, slow down, stay alert, and watch out for children.

With a new school year just beginning, make sure you share the road safely with school buses.

If you reach an intersection where a school bus is loading or unloading students and the stop arm is activated and the red lights are flashing, all traffic must stop.

Even when the intersection is not marked with a stop sign, and even if you are not directly passing the bus, all drivers must stop.

Important information about Skyward was sent to parents/guardians via email yesterday in preparation for the 2026-2027 school year. As a reminder, Skyward will reopen for student and family access beginning at noon on Monday.

The ASD Leadership Team gathered today to kick off the 2026-2027 school year and this year's back-to-school theme, "All In for All Students".

REMINDER: The first day of school for grades K-6 and 9 is Tuesday, Sept. 8. Grades 7, 8 and 10-12 will start school on Wednesday, Sept. 9. Bell schedules are as follows:
(1) High School, 7:35am - 2:35pm; (2) Middle School, 8:00am-3:00pm; (3) Elementary Schools, 8:50am-3:20pm
