Why We’re Quiet on Social Media -
At Gemsight, we’ve intentionally decided not to engage on social media regularly.
After listening to Jonathan Haidt and reading The Anxious Generation, we became more mindful of the role of constant online engagement in student anxiety and mental health.
Rather than contributing to the noise, we choose to invest our time and resources in what matters most:
✨ meaningful relationships
✨ thoughtful, individualized guidance
✨ real conversations with students and families
If you’re new here and would like to learn more about Gemsight, we warmly invite you to reach out. We’d love to have a conversation.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is your key to unlocking grants, scholarships, work-study, and low-interest student loans. Even if you think you won’t qualify, many schools and scholarships require a FAFSA on file.

Be sure to check deadlines, gather your financial documents, and double-check your application for accuracy. Every dollar counts when paying for college—don’t leave money on the table!

Gaining real-world experience before college can set you apart in applications and future job opportunities. Internships and part-time jobs help you develop professional skills, build confidence, and explore career interests early.

Colleges love to see students who take initiative and apply their learning outside the classroom. Plus, hands-on experience can clarify what you do—or don’t—want to pursue in the future.

Whether it’s a summer internship, shadowing a professional, or a part-time job, every experience adds value to your journey.

College placement tests help determine which courses you start with, so prepping can save you time and money by skipping remedial classes! Here’s how to do your best:

1️⃣ Know the Format – Research whether your test covers math, reading, writing, or other subjects.
2️⃣ Review Key Concepts – Focus on algebra, grammar, and reading comprehension—common test areas.
3️⃣ Take Practice Tests – Simulate real test conditions to improve confidence and pacing.
4️⃣ Brush Up on Weak Areas – Spend extra time on subjects you haven’t studied recently.
5️⃣ Get Plenty of Rest – A well-rested mind performs better than a crammed one!

👉 Attention High School Seniors. Check if you need to take placement tests before scheduling your college classes.

Pro Tip: Some schools allow retakes, so check their policies before test day!
