This past Monday, Paley hosted a special family engagement event in celebration of Mother’s Day. Our Head Start & Pre-K Counts Grant classrooms welcomed moms and other special loved ones to join their children for a “Build-A-Bear” activity. Together, families decorated and dressed their bears, creating a hands-on experience centered on love, connection, and shared creativity. It was a meaningful day filled with laughter and lasting memories that celebrated the special bond between children and their families.

Bright smiles, busy hands, and plenty of creativity at Paley! Our young learners had a wonderful time making Edible Play-Doh while exploring the basics of food-making through sensory play. Activities like this help build fine motor skills, encourage curiosity, strengthen social interaction, and introduce early science and math concepts in a fun, hands-on way. 🍎✨

Our young learners at Lassin had a wonderful time participating in indoor yoga activities that encouraged movement, mindfulness, and healthy development. Through guided stretches and fun exercises, children practiced coordination, balance, and flexibility while staying active in a positive and engaging environment.

Yoga is an important part of early childhood development because it helps children strengthen both their bodies and minds. It encourages focus, self-control, confidence, and emotional well-being while also giving children the opportunity to develop important motor skills through movement and play.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to PA State Rep. Ed Neilson and Sim Loh of First Up: Champions for Early Education for visiting Paley Early Learning Center on May 1st. It was a pleasure welcoming them into our classrooms and giving them the opportunity to engage with our young learners and experience the impact of early childhood education firsthand.

During the visit, they learned more about our programs, connected with our students and staff, and saw why so many families choose Paley as the first step in their children’s educational journey. Every day, our team is committed to creating a nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and build the foundation to become the leaders of tomorrow.

A huge thank you to The Franklin Institute for giving our curious scientists at Lassin an unforgettable day of exploration and discovery! From hands-on experiments to interactive exhibits, every moment sparked excitement and wonder, especially the giant heart, which was definitely a favorite.

Experiences like these play such an important role in early childhood education. Giving children the chance to explore science in fun, engaging ways helps build curiosity, confidence, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.

Today’s lesson was as sweet as it was educational. Our young learners at K'tonton worked side by side to create a fresh fruit salad, discovering how different fruits help their bodies grow strong and stay energized. Cooking together encourages cooperation, builds confidence, and introduces healthy choices in a way that sticks. 🍎🍍🍇

At our FELS Centers, we know that moms do so much more than care for their children. They help shape the future leaders of tomorrow through their love, strength, guidance, and sacrifice. Mothers are the heart of so many families, and their impact reaches far beyond the home.

Last Friday, we had the honor of celebrating our amazing FELS moms with special breakfasts and meaningful time spent with their children and loved ones. Mother’s Day is a reminder to recognize the women who nurture, encourage, and inspire every single day, often without asking for anything in return. We are grateful for all that our mothers and caregivers do to build strong families and brighter futures. 💐

Teacher Appreciation Week is a special time dedicated to recognizing the hard work, compassion, and dedication of educators who make a lasting impact on the lives of children every day.

At all of our FELS Centers, our teachers are at the heart of early childhood education, helping our young learners grow, discover, and build the foundation for future success. This week, we were proud to celebrate and thank our incredible teachers with lunches, flowers, gifts, and other special treats to show our appreciation for everything they do.

While Teacher Appreciation Week gives us an opportunity to celebrate them in a special way, our gratitude extends far beyond just one week. Every single day, our teachers play an essential role in shaping our children into the leaders of tomorrow through their patience, guidance, and care.

Thank you to Puppets Pizzazz for making our Family Engagement Night at Lassin this past Tuesday a memorable evening! Families came together to enjoy an entertaining puppet show, tour Lassin, and spend quality time learning and laughing alongside one another.

The smiles and excitement throughout the night made the event truly special, and we are grateful to everyone who joined us. Opportunities like these help strengthen the connection between families, students, and our community while creating lasting memories for our young learners.
