Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
This week we’re recognizing educators with #NationalTeacherAppreciationWeek. The story below via KYW Newsradio and Lansdale Catholic High School - Archdiocese of Philadelphia beautifully illustrates how our faculty, staff, and administrators in Catholic Education continue to find unique ways in this time of #distancelearning and #socialdistancing to celebrate the bright, talented, and gifted students of our Catholic Schools throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia as well as their families who have chosen and recognize the value of a Catholic Education.
I offer my prayers, gratitude, and best wishes to Ciara and Anthony at LC and the entire #Classof2020. We’ll continue to highlight the accomplishments of these young people in the coming weeks. In the name of the people of the Archdiocese, I express pride in their exceptional achievements. Those achievements are possible in large part thanks to the teachers who have dedicated their professional lives to Catholic Education and the young people entrusted to their care. That dedication has come shining through over these last few months to be certain.
Saint John Neumann and Saint Katharine Drexel, pray for us!

In honor of #TeacherAppreciationWeek the administrators at Archbishop John Carroll High School brought the appreciation directly to its faculty. Check out video of Carroll President, Frank Fox, Archbishop Carroll Class of ‘77, surprising one of the teachers yesterday with a token of appreciation for all of their hard work on behalf of the entire school community.
On Monday, members of the Archbishop John Carroll High School administration in Radnor (Delaware County), visited over 45 teachers throughout the five-county region utilizing the appropriate social distancing guidelines in place to express their appreciation for the wonderful job they have done transitioning to online learning. The teachers have gone above and beyond their job over the past several weeks to ensure that their students continue to receive an exceptional education.

Wonderful turnout and gorgeous weather to allow the Holy Trinity School - Morrisville, PA teachers to take their victory lap to kick-off Teacher Appreciation Week! Thank you to all of our Brother Knights and your families who came out to honor our teachers! We were able to make some noise to celebrate our teachers and remain socially distant.
We decorated cars with messages including the words "THANK YOU" spelled out in big bright letters down the backs of all the cars.
Teachers each received a Dunkin gift card, a certificate of appreciation, their choice of a goodie from our snack basket, and a heart-shaped balloon because they represent the big heart in the little school!
Thank you for all that you do for our children, School, and Parish! Stay safe and Thank You!!

"Red and yellow and pink and green
Purple and orange and blue
I can sing a rainbow
Sing a rainbow
Sing a rainbow too"
Students and their families from St. Mary Interparochial School weren't singing rainbows (or maybe they were?), but they were brightening up their neighborhoods with them as part of a #virtualart assignment.
Check out the beautiful and of course colorful art that can't help but brighten up this dreary #Monday weather.

Our families are filling their homes and neighborhoods with rainbows! 🌈 One of our students' virtual art assignments over the past few weeks was to create a rainbow and display it for all to see. We love all of their colorful creations!

Holy Rosary Regional Catholic School is as vibrant and supportive of its community as ever even during #VirtualLearning #DistanceLearning #SocialDistancing here are just three examples direct from the school:
First, recently 8th graders, #Classof2020 donated $1500 that had been saved for their New York City Class trip they were preparing to take later this spring, to help their school community with tuitions, food and general needs at this time. The school is so proud of them. The picture below was from their spaghetti dinner when they raised much of the funds they are now donating!
Second, the Holy Rosary school community collected hand sanitizers and disinfectant wipes for first responders in their community including police and fire departments.
Lastly, despite the inability to come together under one roof, the Holy Rosary Regional much-anticipated Father/Daughter dance took place virtually complete with dresses, suits/ties, and of course dancing!
Holy Rosary is a great example of how #CatholicEducation and its mission of service hasn’t taken a break during an uncertain time!

Join us starting tomorrow, April 25th, for a 9-day Novena in preparation for the 57th World Day of Prayer for Vocations of May 3, 2020.
Seminarians studying at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary will lead us in a daily reflection and prayer for vocations from April 25th to May 3rd. This year, Pope Francis explores the words of vocation ‘pain, gratitude, encouragement and praise’ which and resonates with the Vocation Office theme of ‘Jesus I Trust in You’. We hope that you will join us in prayer each day.

Over the last several weeks we've spoken a great deal about hope in the face of this time of uncertainty. With that in mind I recently convened a multifaceted transition effort spearheaded by a pastoral post-pandemic recovery task force. The transition effort is titled, "Arise: Restoring Catholic Life after the Pandemic.” In the coming days and weeks you will hear more about this project, but in the meantime I wanted to share with you a link to a piece via CatholicPhilly.com, which introduces Arise and its early progress.
I ask you to please pray for this effort and for those whose hard work is supporting its development.
Let us continue to remind ourselves that we are a resilient people because Christ is hope and through Him we are a people of hope!
One of Saint Lucy School for Children with Visual Impairments’, one of four Schools of Special Education in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s amazing students (but we’re sure the sentiments are shared by many if not all of her classmates & their families) shows a little love ❤️ for the teachers and staff at her beloved school!

Sending out THANKS to our amazing teachers and staff.
We love you!
Eternal rest, grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, Rest In Peace.
Please pray for George, and all those mourning his sudden loss especially his father, loved ones, friends, and the entire Archbishop Ryan High School community!
It is with sadness we announce the passing of George Karusky, Class of 2020. George was an amazing young man who was an integral part of the Archbishop Ryan community. He was a member of the Raiders football, soccer, and baseball teams. He was named Philadelphia Catholic League Football Sportsman of the Year. George recently accepted an offer to attend Chestnut Hill in the fall.
George is survived by his father George and preceded in death by his mother. George is remembered by his teachers as kind and caring. With the recent death of longtime English teacher Pat Carlo, George made it a point to check in with teachers who he knew were her friends; he offered a quiet hug or some words of comfort. George’s classmates and teammates are filling social media with prayers, thoughts, and memories. His friends remember his love of sports, his sense of humor, and his big heart.
We invite you to share your memories at ARHS.me/George
Our students and teachers have been invited to a prayer service at noon today. We will share more information and memorials at a later time.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
On this 50th Anniversary of #EarthDay St. Joseph/St. Robert Catholic School students and teachers remind us of all the activities you can do to mark this spring holiday, in your very own backyard.
"This week marks the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day! Today, Earth Day is recognized in over 190 countries and is celebrated by 1 billion people throughout the world! Every action counts to promote clean living and a safe environment for people and our wildlife.
For the past 10 years, the students at St. Joseph/St. Robert School have organized an annual Earth Day Recycling Challenge on the school campus. Given the status of the current global pandemic, the students recognition of Earth Day 2020 has gone virtual this year! Since we can’t all be together at school to celebrate this important movement, our families this weekend celebrated Earth Day safely at their homes and in our communities.
Attached are just a few activities from our families to share and remind the community of the beautiful Earth that surrounds us. The students were excited to virtually recognize Earth Day, and all we can do to protect our Earth!"
