It is with heavy hearts that we must announce that after 30 plus years, the decision has been made to close the doors of St. John’s Preschool. We are devastated and heartbroken to share this news with the community and the families and children in it that we loved, nurtured, and cared for, for so long, and loved us back tremendously. We felt every bit of that love and gratitude, and we will carry that love, and all of the memories attached with us for the rest of our lives. While it is true that our specialty was loving, nurturing, and teaching the preschoolers of our community not just ABC’s and 1,2,3’s, but also how to be a good friend and treat others with kindness, we did so much more than that. We cared for families as well. We fostered friendships and partnerships between parents. Not just during their time with us, but some well beyond those two years they spent watching their children learn and grow together! That alone shows us that the mission we were given by St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church when they started this ministry was completed time and time again. Share God’s love for us all, and encourage everyone we meet to spread that love to others. THANK YOU to everyone who stepped through our doors and allowed us to share our joy of teaching, witness active learning, and God’s love. Thank you for allowing us into your homes and lives, and sharing with us your most precious gifts- your children. It truly takes a village, and we found ours with all of you. In parting, we would like to share a message we usually reserve for our departing graduates and their families-“Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”

“I always say how sad I am that my sons couldn't be in this school longer. I always say it was a happy accident finding St. John's because we weren't planning on putting our oldest in preschool because of Covid but we went to the information night and felt safe having him there. It was the best decision! Both boys went to kindergarten ready to go after learning so much from the amazing teachers there, teachers who become part of your family and genuinely truly care for your kids. My sons both made friends that they still have to this day (and we as parents did as well.)

Students have many events and opportunities and parents are definitely part of the educational experience. Today we celebrate 20 wonderful years with Mrs. Brighter!

What started as a mom enrolling her three little ones in our Preschool turned into a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication. Over the past two decades, Mrs. Brighter has worn many hats—teacher’s aide, classroom helper, and for many years now, the heart of our front office as our amazing school secretary.

Whether she’s answering phones, comforting a nervous new parent, or lending a hand in the classroom, Mrs. Brighter brings kindness, calm, and joy to everything she does.

We are beyond grateful for her commitment to our school and our families. Congratulations on 20 (plus)years, Mrs. Brighter, we’re so lucky to have you as part of our St. John's PreSchool family! 💐2️⃣0️⃣
