🚔🏀 HOOPS FOR HOPE 🏀🚔

On April 25th at Community College of Philadelphia, our Liga youth went head-to-head with Philly Police Officers in a powerful event focused on bridging the gap between law enforcement and our community through basketball, mentorship, and unity. 💙

This was bigger than basketball. This was about building trust, creating memories, and showing our youth that community matters.

Special THANK YOU to our amazing sponsors and supporters who helped make this event possible:

With the heaviest of hearts, we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Jadin Aviles. This is by far the most difficult news to share in a long time. Jadin was not just a talented basketball player; he was a genuine and extraordinary person. His hard work, dedication, and kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

The Liga Familia is broken today for the family of Jadin. Our hearts go out to his father, Coach , and the entire family during this unimaginable time. For those who know Coach Sam, you know he is one of the most humble, caring, and dedicated individuals to La Liga for over a decade. His unwavering commitment to the sport and to his players is a testament to his character, and today, our thoughts are with him and his loved ones.

Jadin was more than an athlete, he was a shining light, a friend, and a true testament to what it means to work hard and stay dedicated. We will forever cherish his memory, his spirit, and the positive impact he made on all of us. Rest in peace, Jadin. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

is honored to be among dozens of Philadelphia nonprofit organizations who received grants Tuesday to help fund their youth summer programs.

We are grateful to District Attorney and officials with the DAO’s External Engagement & Government Affairs Division who gathered to award over 40 grants in support of youth summer programs, and to help prevent violence.

The most powerful part of La Liga del Barrio isn’t just what happens on the court… it’s what happens within the community. 🏀❤️
Parents cheering in the stands, former players returning to inspire, and coaches mentoring the next generation show that this is bigger than basketball. It’s family, leadership, and community pride.

Gracias a todos los que siguen construyendo este legado.
Thank you to everyone continuing to build this legacy.
