Nazareth Academy High School Music Department

Congratulations to our six students who participated in the All Catholic Band Festival February 12-14 at Bishop Shanahan High School. Their Valentine’s Day concert made it even more special - and we love our students a million! The band was led by Dr. Philip Simon, former Director of Bands at Wilkes University.

Nazareth Academy hosted the 2026 All Catholic Chorus Festival January 29-31 concluding with a beautiful concert in the Chapel. Led by Dr. Elizabeth Parker, Professor of Music Education at Boyer College of Music at Temple University, the festival brought together 88 students from 16 Archdiocesan and Private Schools. Nazareth was proudly represented by 22 students who auditioned and earned their place into their year’s honor choir. We are grateful to our student and parent volunteers who helped make this weekend a success!

We congratulate our four students who were accepted into PMEA District 12 Chorus. They will be attending the district festival at Upper Darby High School this weekend under the direction of Dr. Kimberly Dunn-Adams, Director of Choral Activities at West Chester University.

On the 3rd Sunday of Advent, the Music Department held the 14th Annual Candlelight Concert in the Chapel. This concert of sacred music, along with carols and readings, featured the Chorus, Chorale, Alumnae Choir, and Orchestra. It was a beautiful way to prepare our hearts for Christmas!

Last Thursday, the Performing Arts Center was filled with the holiday spirit during our annual Christmas Concert. 🎄🎶 The concert featured performances by our eight ensembles: Orchestra, Jazz Band, String Ensemble, Saxophone Quartet, Guitar Ensemble, Chorus, Chorale, and Pandamonium!
