🎶✨ An Evening of the Arts ✨🎶Our final spring concert of the school year is happening this Friday, May 29, from 5:30–6:30 PM! Join us to experience student artwork displayed throughout the lobby and hallways, leading into the dining room where our student musicians will collaborate on an hour of incredible music. This marks the first time our band and choir will perform a piece together, making it a truly special evening. Light refreshments will be available for musicians, families, and guests following the concert. This event is made possible by a great deal of preparation from Ms. Lambre, Mr. Lyner, and Ms. Sinatra! We hope to see you there to celebrate the arts and our talented students! 🎨🎵

☀️❤️ Our May Family Funday Sunday was one for the books! From celebrating Mass together, to enjoying a cookout-inspired dinner, honoring our amazing choir members with awards, and ending the night roasting s’mores around the firepit 🔥🍫 it was such a joyful day filled with faith, fellowship, food, and fun. Thank you to everyone who came out and made the day so special! And thank you to our Chaplaincy Team and Servant Year, Philadelphia members for making these Sundays possible!

From the beginning, St. James has sought church partners aligned with our values, and we found that and more in Church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, one of our earliest partners. Since 2011, St. Martin’s and its parishioners have supported our work with generous gifts, countless volunteer hours, and a deep commitment to community engagement and inclusion. We are honored to recognize St. Martin’s for its enduring partnership at this year’s Dr. Audrey Evans Benefit! 🎥 Watch the video to learn more about this meaningful partnership.

Thank you Saint Timothy's Episcopal Church, Roxborough What a gift it was to be with you. Together, we’ve made meaningful memories, and we are stronger because of your faithful support of our mission and vision. We are especially grateful for the warm welcome and the opportunity to share updates about St. James. Thank you for making space for good news, good conversation, and renewed connection. And yes, walking away with a box of shoes to support our students will help us continue this journey together! Meeting your husky felt especially apropos, and seeing our mascot was the icing on the cake. 🐾🎉

As she prepares to graduate, 8th grader Gabby, the youngest of three siblings to walk the halls of St. James and a part of this community for more than 10 years, leaves behind a powerful legacy. 💜 In her sermon, Gabby left us with meaningful homework: “Think about how you want to leave this place.” She asked us to imagine the day we are in her shoes, what we want to be remembered for, how we will stay connected to this community, and “what will you bring from this place as you head out into the world?” Her reminder stays with us: “Life is short and we do not have much time to love, be kind, and change the world.” Thank you, Gabby! 🌟

Did you hear? St. James is now the Community of St. James! Naming What We Have Become. We have changed our name from St. James School to Community of St. James. The name change embraces the fact that we have become much more than a middle school with the addition of Graduate Support in 2013, renewal of the Church of St. James the Less in 2016, and formation of The Welcome Table in 2020. Check out our new updated website and watch the video here! ❤️💛

Hands-on learning at its best! 🧠🔬 Our 7th grade science lab took a deep dive into anatomy with a sheep brain dissection and they took it seriously. With guidance from Mrs. Cahill and Mrs. Greene, students asked great questions, made careful observations, and learned so much along the way. Another day of curiosity, focus, and real-world science at St. James School!

We love our Saturday morning market with the Welcome Table 🌞 The weather was beautiful this week, and it was a joy to see so many volunteers, both longtime friends and brand-new faces. We were especially glad to be joined by our friends from Church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields as we gear up for Wednesday’s Dr. Audrey Evans Benefit. We truly could not host these markets without our steady and strong volunteer corps, thank you for showing up for our community, week after week. 💛
