This photo of me from 2009 sits by my bed. It reminds me everyday why I started my business Trina Stutzman, LLC all those years ago:

Freedom and Aliveness

When I started my business I named it Freedom Coaching.
In 2000, I was diagnosed with cancer. The diagnosis was my wake up call to fully live! I don’t want others to wait for a cancer diagnosis to start living. My wake up call started me on a journey of breaking free and helping others to live more free and alive.

Breaking free from:

Codependent relationships
Cultural expectations
Limiting beliefs
Negative self-talk
Suffering well
Behaving well

As I started to set myself free, I began to feel alive.
Really alive, like I felt in this photo.

My business continues to be built around this quote by Harold Thurman:
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs, ask yourself what makes your come alive because what this world needs is people who have come alive.”

Jesus said something similar, “I have come to give you life, life abundantly!”

I am a Midwife of the Soul.
I am here as a guide to help you on your journey to feel more alive and free!

At a recent woman’s conference, I shared:

“I have been accused of teaching selfishness.
Not true, I am teaching people how to have a self.” It was a first – I heard a few amens!

I teach women they are equally valuable.
You are not defined by a role.
I teach women they are equally worthy.
You too can be served.
I teach women it’s ok to be human.

You are not too much.
You are not too sensitive.
You are not too intense.
You are not too emotional.
You are not too difficult.

You are YOU.
Keep bringing your SELF to relationships.
If someone can’t handle your SELF, it may not be an honest, loving relationship.
It could be a conditional, contractual agreement.

I felt like a little girl again gathering things and creating a terrarium —except this time I didn’t make it in a shoebox! Anyone else do that?

Feeling like my younger self was delightful.

When was the last time you felt like a kid?

This past fall I spent some time at Convict Lake in California.
It didn’t form overnight. The mountains rose, the water settled, the seasons shaped it—slowly, over time.

Nature never rushes its becoming so it is with humans, you are not behind you are becoming.

If your January reset already feels shaky,
this is your permission to slow down.

By mid January most New Year’s resolutions are already forgotten.

And that doesn’t mean you failed.
It usually means you skipped a step.

Real change happens in stages:

Pre-contemplation — not seeing it yet
Contemplation — starting to wonder
Preparation — getting honest
Action — trying something new
Maintenance — choosing it again and again

These stages of change reflect how humans grow.

Ask yourself today:
What stage of change am I truly in right now?

That’s not avoidance.
That’s wisdom.

One time I told someone I was a life coach and they said, “oh you’re a minister of encouragement!” Yes, that fits —-it resonated!

I am excited to offer encouragement later this month at a Women’s Conference. Join me! Details below.

I’ve been cracked open by life more than once.

Cancer
Religious Trauma
Divorce

I know what it’s like to lose yourself while still functioning.
In my work, I don’t claim to be a guru but a guide.

I walk alongside overwhelmed individuals who are ready to stop performing strength and start feeling alive again.

No fixing.
No formulas.

Just presence, truth, and space to become yourself again.
You don’t need another strategy.
You need a companion for the crossing.

Reach out if you are interested in aliveness mentoring.

We can meet on a path to walk, play pickleball, meet in a coffee shop, on zoom, or in person!

What would you enjoy doing while having our first conversation?

In my coaching sessions, I often ask high-achieving clients:
"What would it look like if you gave 5% less at home and/or work?"

These are capable, driven people. Their starting point is already high.

When I say the words try softer, I can almost see it happen—
shoulders drop, jaws unclench, a quiet exhale.

So what might trying softer look like in 2026?

• Pausing before responding instead of reacting immediately
• Leaving white space between meetings
• Saying “I’ll think about that” instead of defaulting to yes
• Letting rest be rest—not preparation for the next push
• Trusting that your value isn’t measured by constant effort

For high-achievers, trying softer doesn’t mean doing less.
It means stopping the extra effort no one asked for.

What would shift if you tried softer in 2026?

I saw this ornament in a store last week and it made me laugh.

Wishing you a holiday season filled with laughter, ease and the simple knowing
that you don’t have to earn your place under the tree!

Merry Christmas🎄
