Tarpon Springs, Florida, is often referred to as "Gulf Coast Greece," "Little Greece," and "Greektown." In the early 20th century this quaint town on FL's sunny Gulf Coast drew a workforce of immigrant sponge-fishers from Greece, and today it has the highest percentage of Greek residents of any town in the US.
On our PARADISE GOURMET tour, November 13-17, we'll visit Tarpon Springs to check out the atmospheric sponge docks, the kitschy sponge museum, excellent shopping, and of course... the FOOD! With the waves lapping nearby, the platters of saganaki, moussaka, grilled lamb, Greek salad and baklava, and our glasses full of wine - we might as well be in Mykonos for a day!
