I know this goes against everything you’ve ever heard about grief support, but you don’t need to be with people who have gone through the same type of loss you have to be able to heal.
Comparing grief by the type of loss minimizes a persons experience. There is no hierarchy of emotional pain because all grief is experienced at 100%. That means when one person has a broken heart because someone died, and someone else has a broken heart because of a divorce, they both feel the full intensity of their feelings.
At The Grief Recovery Institute there is room for everyone to heal no matter what losses they’ve experienced. That is one thing that makes the Grief Recovery Method different than almost every other grief support group you will find, and one reason why we have such a high success rate at helping people find freedom after their pain.
