"Crossing the finish line" of active treatment often comes with unexpected emotions. Everyone expects you to celebrate, but inside, you might feel exhausted, anxious, or disoriented.

Hereโ€™s the truth: Finishing treatment isn't the end of the journey. Itโ€™s often the first time your nervous system feels safe enough to process everything youโ€™ve been through.

If you're asking yourself "What's next?", give yourself permission to go slow.

In psychology, this is where Post-Traumatic Growth beginsโ€”not by forcing fake positivity, but by gently rebuilding your strength, peace, and resilience on your own terms.

Try this simple grounding practice today:
1๏ธโƒฃ Unclench your jaw and drop your shoulders.
2๏ธโƒฃ Press both feet flat onto the floor. Feel the support beneath you.
3๏ธโƒฃ Take a deep breath in, expand your ribs, and exhale slowly through your mouth. Repeat 3 times.

โœจ Ready to move into your growth zone? Join us for our upcoming 6-week live Zoom series, Stronger After Cancer. Together, we explore gentle movement, breathwork, sleep techniques, and real community support.

Staring at the ceiling at 3:00 AM wondering why your brain is running a marathon?

Hmpfh. I hate when that happens.

The harder we try to force sleep, the more awake we feel. But you don't have to just lie there fighting your thoughts.

Ever caught your reflection in your computer screen at 4:00 PM and realized youโ€™ve slowly, subconsciously morphed into Roz from Monsters, Inc.? ๐Ÿ‘“๐Ÿ—’๏ธ

You know the look: shoulders rounded up to your ears, neck protruding forward, and your spine frozen in a defensive slouch.

Whether weโ€™re navigating the heavy physical toll of cancer treatments, managing a chronic illness, or just juggling a relentless to-do list, our bodies have a default defense mechanism. When we feel overwhelmed, we "brace." We hold our breath, lock our joints, and freeze.

While this bracing is a natural protective instinct, staying in survival mode creates chronic stiffness, restricts our breathing, and intensifies fatigue.

To melt that tension, you don't need a grueling workout. You just need to remind your nervous system that itโ€™s safe to move.

The human spine is anatomically designed to move in 6 distinct directions. Gently exploring these movements sends a direct signal to your body to unlock, breathe, and reset.

Take 2 minutes today to un-hunch those shoulders, reset your spine, and see how much deeper your next breath feels.

Check out the full breakdown and a quick video guide on my blog. โฌ‡๏ธ

Ever catch your reflection at 4:00 PM and realize youโ€™ve slowly morphed into Roz from Monsters, Inc.? ๐ŸŒ

Shoulders hiked up to your ears, neck protruding, spine completely frozen in a protective slouch... yeah, weโ€™ve all been there.

Whether youโ€™re navigating the intense physical toll of cancer treatments, managing a chronic illness, or just juggling daily life, your body has a built-in defense mechanism: when stress hits, we "brace."

But staying in survival mode creates chronic stiffness and restricts our breathing. To melt it away, you don't need a grueling workout. You just need to remind your body that it is safe to move.

Letโ€™s go to the spineโ€”the very backbone of how we process stress.

Anatomically, your spine is designed to move in 6 distinct directions. Taking just two minutes to gently move it forward, back, side-to-side, and into a gentle twist sends a direct signal to your nervous system to unlock and reset.

Drop your shoulders right now, take a deep breath, and click the link below to watch a quick 2-minute video on how to safely move your spine today. ๐Ÿค

Most yoga classes focus purely on exerciseโ€”building strength and flexibility. And thatโ€™s great! But what if you want to learn more about your unique patterns, your posture, and the deeper mind-body connection? ๐Ÿง โœจ

Welcome to Myofascial Yoga.

In this class, we dive into the connective tissue (your fascia) to loosen up tight muscles, chronic pain, and odd posture quirks.

With my background in Dance (MFA) and bodywork, I help you understand how your body moves and where it holds tension.

But the work doesn't stop at the physical. We sprinkle in mindfulness tools to help you create internal ease, cultivate self-kindness, and improve sleep and anxiety.

๐ŸŒŸ Who is it for? Everyone! Itโ€™s open to anyone looking for relief. It is also particularly powerful for individuals recovering from cancer treatment who are trying to shift out of physical "guarding" or protection modes after surgery and chemo.

Come experience that deep sense of relief.

Are you ready to gently open back up after treatment?

If youโ€™ve been through surgeries, chemo, or radiation, you might notice your body feels like itโ€™s still in "protection mode." Itโ€™s incredibly common for the body to close in on itself, guarding the areas that went through trauma.

But you donโ€™t have to stay locked in those tight patterns. ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธโœจ

My name is Michelle Stortz, and for the past 15 years, Iโ€™ve specialized in oncology yoga therapy. I designed my Myofascial Release & Yoga class to help you gently re-educate your body, release that chronic guarding, and find your way back to ease and stability.

While this class is open to anyone looking to dissolve tight muscle patterns and posture quirks, it is exceptionally supportive for those in the post-active cancer treatment phase.

We work on the floor to release the connective tissue (fascia), stand up to strengthen healthier patterns, and weave in mindfulness tools to ease anxiety and improve sleep. As one student put it: โ€œI feel like Iโ€™ve been to a chiropractor after this class!โ€
