⚽️ A DOMINANT HOME OPENER FOR SABRES TRAVEL SOCCER! ⚽️

Our Sabres Travel Soccer team hosted the Fishtown River Rats Blue today and earned an incredible 9–0 victory!

The entire team played outstanding soccer from start to finish. Our defense allowed only four shots on goal, and goalkeeper Jihad stopped every one of them to secure the shutout! Goals were scored by Giorgi, Aarush, Raymond, and Chris. What a complete team effort!

A huge shoutout to Coach Shatera Goff, Coach Dan Oyekanmi and Coach Ant Lilly for helping coach our travel team while also running their own in-house teams. Thank you to Pat for mowing the city field and Jerry for putting the nets together so everything was ready for our home opener.

Finally, a very special shoutout to Coach James Little, our Soccer Director, who is doing an outstanding job helping strengthen and grow the Sabres soccer program. His hard work and dedication are helping create new opportunities and build momentum for the future!

We are incredibly proud of these players, coaches, and volunteers. Sabres soccer is back and we are only getting started!

⚽️ Today was a huge moment for Sabres Soccer! The U10 team played the organization’s first travel soccer game in nine years!

Our team faced Parkwood and, although the final score wasn’t the outcome they hoped for, these kids should be incredibly proud of themselves. This is their first experience playing travel soccer, so we knew there would be challenges and plenty to learn along the way. They went out there, worked hard, never gave up, and scored five goals in their very first game, finishing with a close 8–5 score!

This season is all about learning, developing, and growing together. We are so proud of how they played today and can’t wait to watch their progress throughout the season. This is just the beginning for Sabres Travel Soccer!

Today, the Academy Sabres remember and honor the innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001. We also recognize the incredible bravery and sacrifice of the first responders, service members, and everyday heroes who stepped forward during our nation’s darkest hours.

We are especially proud to recognize our very own Pinky Benedick and the late Butch Benedick. As members of the Philadelphia Police Department, they traveled to Manhattan to help in the aftermath of the attacks. Their courage, selflessness, and willingness to answer the call represent the true meaning of service. We are incredibly proud and honored to have them as part of the Sabres family.

Today, we remember those we lost, honor those who served, and stand with the families whose lives were forever changed.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙
