On Friday, September 11, Grades K-3 discussed Patriot Day by reading a story and creating a card for our local firehouse. First grade read This Very Tree which is told from the unique point of view of the real-life Callery pear tree that stood between the World Trade Center's Twin Towers. It focuses less on the events and more on regrowth and overcoming fears.
