Today we celebrate the outstanding leadership of our Interpreting Services Director, Yalanda Allgood.

Her commitment and dedication to our organization have been nothing short of impactful. If you’ve attended any of our workshops, conferences, or trainings—you’ve experienced her work firsthand. Yalanda has been instrumental in creating and ensuring the success of initiatives like the CAKES Interpreter Development Lab.

From the very beginning, she understood the vision and, more importantly, the impact. This is what heart work looks like—real passion, real leadership, and a genuine commitment to building something that serves others.

We are grateful for you, Yalanda. Your work does not go unnoticed. 👏🏾✨

Hi I am Javonda, I work for My ASL Teacher Rocks. Learn about a fun fact about me!

04/14/2026

We love hearing from our students who ROCK! Our little signer Donovan and his mother sat down with Yalanda Allgood for a interview on why learning ASL is important as a hearing person.

Donovan has been a student with Mr. Harold Campbell for a year and we are excited about his commitment to learning and supporting all communities!

We may have a future interpreter on our hands! 😉
