Sometimes your ethics get in the way of your progress. I say never go against you ethics and morals. You must on the other hand recognize when it’s not an ethical question it’s a guilt or false sense of debt or attachment that is what is holding you back.

Guilt, feeling like you owe someone, or worrying about being the bad guy. Are all signs that it has nothing to do with ethics and morals but has everything to do with manipulation of your feelings.

Cut dead weight, everyone can always go, do not drown your self saving someone who keeps jumping in the deep in. Some people where never meant to see the victory with you.
