Duncan Donuts has these small round tables that have four legs. The legs are not exactly the same length and that causes the tables to "wobble" and hot coffee to spill. There are even little adjusters on the bottom of each leg to fix that. Yuk! Now what do you think would happen if the tables had three legs instead of four? The answer is that the tables would NEVER wobble even if the floor was uneven! Geometry teaches that 3 different points can always be contained in a plane (the floor), but that's not true for 4 points. Therefore, tables (and chairs) should be made with three legs, not four. Unless of course, there's a reason not to. For example, if it's a big long table. Life is not always about politics. Sometimes it's about mathematics!
