Chronic overwhelm has very clear roots: timid decision making. When you’re a content creator, you’re making decisions constantly! But there are certain mindset shifts that have to happen so you don’t freeze when you’re faced with a decision, especially when the outcome is uncertain.

I love working with clients on embodying these mindset shifts and making decisions with confidence. The key is to know that the outcome does not mean you are good or bad, it’s just more information for next time!

If fear of rejection keeps you from pitching, listen up 👂🏻

Our brains are so good at protecting us- sometimes TOO good. When protection turns into a barrier, that's when you have to call yourself in for a 🚨mindset reset🚨

It totally makes sense that you've avoided pitching brands, because there is risk: rejection.

But YOU give meaning to rejection. If rejection means "I'm not valuable" you're going to avoid it. You take less risks, you make less progress, and everything takes more time.

If you decide rejection means "They don't see my incredible value" then it's a GIFT. Rejection is a wonderful thing because it guides you towards the right brands, the most aligned collaborations. With this mindset, you take more risks, make quicker progress, and reach your goals even faster. 

There is no shame in hearing "no" because it means you asked the question. If you never ask, you can never get a "yes" either.  And there are so many people in this world who never ask the question. 

Be the person who always asks the question.

What does rejection as an influencer bring up for you? 

Before you’ve had a few sponsorships, it feels mega intimidating to pitch brands on paid partnerships. The key thing to remember is this: you have something a company can’t buy. You have people’s trust.

That’s the real thing you’re “selling” in your sponsorships! Trust. And yes, you’re also creating content they can use in their own advertising (pssst that’s an extra fee) but at the core, you’re agreeing to give a product your seal of approval.

I spent years stewing in jealousy over the perfect-looking friend squads on my feed. I know that social media is only the highlight reel, but still! A group of my fave influencers were all hanging out and I wanted to be there. Do you know that feeling?

I prioritize flexibility in my life and in my coaching- but there are things that must be aligned if you are truly going to get the most out of our time together.
