Extended Rear Facing - rear facing until the child maxes out of the rear facing weight or height limit of the seat (which will bring the child passed the age of 2).
Here is a 4 year old that fits well within the limits and is comfortably rear facing!
It is often a misconception we have that kids legs are too long and uncomfortable. In fact, their legs tend to be safer rear facing than they are forward facing.

Hi! My posting has been minimal this year but I still plan to post here and there when I have the time. Posting is often on my mind so I’m excited to create one tonight!
Did you know that according to the CDC and various other resources, on average, a 57” child would range from 9-12 years old? That means, children ranging from ages 9-12 will still most likely need a type of booster seat in order to fit properly with a seat belt.
The reason being, is that the booster helps lift the child up higher so the seatbelt hits him/her in the proper locations on his/her body.

Hi! It feels good to be creating a post after such a long hiatus!
When installing your seat with the lower anchors aka latch system, you’ll want to be mindful of your child’s weight. Lower anchors always have a weight limit.
This seat in particular in my second photo is the Graco 4ever Extend2fit DLX Snuglock. Make sure to read your manual to see what the weight limit is for your specific seat because not all weight limits are the same.
Once the weight limit has been reached the car seat must be installed via seatbelt.
