This weather has been too good to stay inside ☀️
We took our learning outdoors and brought the water table with us! Our little learners practiced pouring, scooping, using sponges and exploring through hands-on water play—building fine motor skills, coordination, and early math concepts along the way.
Learning + sunshine = the perfect combination 🌿

🦷 Our little learners had SO much fun exploring our Dentist’s Office theme!
Last week, we discovered how dentists are important community helpers and learned the proper steps for brushing and flossing our teeth. The children explored real dental X-rays and even created their own, got creative painting with toothbrushes, and stepped into the role of a dentist—complete with dress-up and giving “check-ups” to their friends!
We also used mirrors to take a closer look at our teeth, mouths, and tongues, created bright self-portraits full of BIG smiles, and wrapped it all up by making a healthy (and yummy!) “smile” using apple slices, marshmallows, and sun butter 😄🍎
Take a look at how engaged, curious, and excited our children were throughout this theme!

Special visitor at The Norment School! 📚🐞
Ms. Alicia from the program with the Free Library of Philadelphia stopped by with some exciting surprises for our classroom. Of course, she brought new books for our library, helping us continue to build a love for reading!
She also brought new materials for our science centers. The children had a great time exploring with magnifying glasses and large insects, observing them up close and sparking lots of curiosity and conversation. 🔍
We are so grateful for our partnership and for opportunities that continue to support our children’s literacy and STEM learning!

In honor of Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss Week, we kicked off the celebration by dressing up as our favorite Dr. Seuss characters!
We gathered together for a fun read-along of The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss and filled our classroom with laughter, imagination, and a love for storytelling.
At The Norment School, we believe fostering early reading habits builds strong foundations for kindergarten readiness and lifelong learning. Let’s continue to nurture confident, curious readers—one book at a time!

In our preschool classroom, learning is intentional, engaging, and FUN! We’re building strong foundations in literacy, math, social-emotional skills, independence, and critical thinking every single day. From recognizing letters and sounds to problem-solving with friends, our little learners are growing into confident, capable scholars.
We don’t just prepare children for kindergarten — we prepare them for lifelong success.

Let’s play music! 🎶 We pulled out our classroom instruments and played along to some of our favorite songs. Music is so powerful in early childhood—it supports language development, strengthens listening skills, builds memory, and encourages creativity and self-expression. When children explore rhythm and sound, they’re also developing coordination and learning how to work together as a group. Most importantly, music brings joy to the classroom and creates meaningful learning through play.

Last week our little ones put on their scientist hats and explored hands-on experiments! We made lava lamps, created volcanoes, and experimented with ice and glow-in-the-dark paint, watching matter change as ice melted from a solid (frozen) to a liquid ❄️➡️💧
Learning through play, curiosity, and a little bit of wow—science never looked so fun! 🧪

We love hearing from our amazing parents! 💬
Their feedback means the world to us. Knowing that we’re making a positive impact on both children and families is why we do what we do. Thank you for trusting us with your little ones!
