Quick Message To All Dance Lovers / Fans.

I understand everyone has their favorite, but sometimes don’t let favoritism blind you to the truth.

1. When a person is trending, that doesn’t make them the best or even put them among A-list dancers. I know a lot of dancers from Nigeria who are trending but aren’t even professional dancers or considered the best dancers in Nigeria. Doing this can make most kids who still need development or need to work on their craft feel like they’re equal to certain people, and this is wrong.

2. When you see a kid coming up and doing well in his or her dance career, please motivate them to do more instead of comparing them with people they should honor and respect. I understand that comparisons sometimes heat things up and get everyone working, but there are certain people you shouldn’t compare an upcoming dancer with due to their achievements and more.

3. If it’s just dance moves that make people the best dancers, then I can show you 10 upcoming dancers who are extremely talented. But because they don’t have the attention yet, it looks like they haven’t arrived.

As an upcoming dancer, stop wishing for them to compare you with your superiors. Do your thing and keep growing. Trust me, you will love the outcome. There is nothing to gain from trying to prove that you’re bigger or better than me or any other dancer. You can praise yourself, but make sure to know who is who and give those people their accolades. Clap for your fav, but respect the craft.
