You might be asking... What's a POD? 💭
A "pod" or "learning pod" is a small gathering of children, ideally grouped by age, who meet with a teacher/supervisor at one family’s home to learn together. A pod is a GREAT way to continue practicing social distancing while still allowing your kids to learn, play and communicate with others!
While we will absolutely be offering our services to single families, we encourage you to consider the POD approach as another way to keep your children connected to their peers.

Providing online learning assistance to Philadelphia families who have children attending virtual school this fall.
Ideal applicant will complete PA childcare clearances, have prior childcare experience, provide their own transportation and be mindful of social distancing guidelines.
Duties include:
* Overseeing online learning curriculum (provided by child's school).
* Assisting with questions/homework.
* Providing extra learning opportunities, such as fun science experiments, outdoor play, or "kitchen math" to keep children engaged and having fun.
* Some families may ask for light housework / assistance with meal prep.

Hello, and welcome to the brand new Fairmount Online Learning Pod page! 👩🏫
I'm Jacqui and I've lived in this area for 2.5 years. I was recently laid off from my job in Public Relations due to COVID-19 (as you can imagine, not many events are taking place to promote!) but I am excited about taking my career in a different direction this fall.
We understand that picking online or in-person learning for your child is a tough decision and we know that you, as parents, are considering all factors during this time. Many of you might be working from home, or outside the home as essential workers, and not have the time or capacity to "homeschool" your children as well! That's where we come in. 👍
Our aim is to provide individual families or "pods" of close families with day to day online learning assistance. Families have different needs regarding hours and flexibility and we hope to fulfill those needs as creatively as possible. 💡
