Ten years later

Our inaugural Pennoni Community Fellows has wrapped! , Samirah Rahman, .vb, and did so much work with our community partners, . They created a postcard campaign that brought 1000 hand drawn postcards to the Philadelphia School Board, spoke directly at a board meeting about Philadelphia school libraries needing resources, helped spread the word about the Imagination Library, and earned their Civic Engagement Leadership Certificates with our friends and partners, ! Lets take a breathe … they have been such wonderful collaborators throughout this year. We’re so proud of them and can’t wait to see their trajectories over the next few years as they continue to build communities.

It is truly celebration season at Pennoni! Our Honors Program mentors have done so much work to ensure our students feel seen, cared for, and supported. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this powerful discussion on justice, reform, and lived experience. A special thank you to Eastern State Penitentiary's LEAD Fellows for sharing their stories. We also want to thank our moderator, Cyndi Rickards, from Criminology and Justice Studies from Drexel University College of Arts and Sciences, and EdD for guiding the conversation. Lastly, thank you to all the students and staff who participated and engaged so thoughtfully. Your voices and presence made this event truly meaningful!
