Xtra Curriculum Pi Day Contest
Xtra Curriculum is a top-class Coding and Mathematics learning platform for young minds. Guided by highly experienced tutors, our programs give kids a strong foundation in basic concepts and help them achieve their future goals.
On Behalf of Xtra Curriculum, we are celebrating Pi Day on March 14th (3/14).
Pi (Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159.
Pi Day is an annual opportunity for math enthusiasts to recite the infinite digits of Pi, talk to their friends about math, and eat pie.
Here is how you can participate in the Pi Day Contest.
1. Draw a Picture
2. Write a Journal
3. Create a PPT/Video
Send to [email protected] on or before Mar 14, 2023 and Win Attractive Prizes.

In this course, we will be learning how electrical circuits and electronics work through simple experiments.
60 minutes per class
16 classes
10-16 year olds
3-5 Learners per class
Course Description
Hello and welcome to Electric Circuits 101 with Xtra Curriculum!
We will embark on a mission to learn how electricity works! This is a beginner level course so all are welcome.
In this week-long class we will be learning how electrical circuits and electronics work, all through simple experiments.
We will learn what electrical components like diodes, resistors and capacitors do and how they work, while making cool electric circuits of our own every day!
We will be using Snap Circuits for our experiments. With Snaps Circuits, there’s no need for wires, plugs or dangerous soldering irons to learn about electricity, all you need to do is plug in the right components to construct your own working electrical circuits. This way you can test out for yourself and learn through experiments how the components work while taking away any risk of getting electrocuted!
At Xtra Curriculum, we believe in project based learning. When children learn through play, they never forget the lessons. Therefore we will work on a new, slightly more complex project every day.
This is a 16 Week course covering 12 cool projects that will teach the basics of Electronics.
Agenda
We will cover the following concepts in our Course
1.Introduction to current and voltage
2.Introduction to Electronics devices
3.Introduction to computer based electronic simulation tool(login free)
4.Electronics circuit design hardware kit Dos and Don'ts
5.Series and parallel circuit demonstration using Fan and Lamp
6.Low resistance path demonstration
7.Introduction to Light Emitting diode
8. Photo resister and Demonstration
9.Integrated circuit design for musical door bell
10.Light police siren demonstration
11.Using parts as a conductor
12.Light controlled sound demonstration
13.NPN and PNP transistor
14.Water detector and salt detector
15.Introduction to capacitors and demonstration
16.AM radio Demonstration
Understanding circuits is helpful to anybody, opening the door to hundreds of fun ideas and principles!
REQUIREMENTS:
You will need a Snap Circuits set for this class. The set can be ordered
online via Amazon or any other retailer. There are a few in the market, but the minimum requirement for this course is a Snap Circuits Jr.
However it’s recommended to get the Snap Circuits SC-300 model if your child has a serious passion for electronics.
You will also need 2 AA batteries
