Hello everyone. Welcome to the Haverford Learning Pods page. I've created this page for two reasons. The first is that I see a real need for a place for parents to come together to form learning pods. If you're not familiar with the concept, a learning pod is a small group of students, ideally in the same grade, that go to one location or each others' homes to do their online learning during the pandemic. Instead of having to be home and supervise your children Monday through Friday, you might only need to take on the group for one day or hire a teacher to guide the instruction.
The second reason I created this page is that I am a certified elementary and middle school teacher that is staying home to supervise and teach my own two children, and would like to earn some income. Last year I was both teaching full time and attempting to teach my own kids. I found that they had very little assigned work. I'm sure a lot of you experienced similar frustrations. If you join my pod, I would provide structure and support as well as supplement their curriculum, so that they have a relatively normal school day.
