She’s currently obsessed with squishies, so her tutor came prepared. 💜
Today’s lesson combined phonics, writing, and a squishy-making experiment. After creating her squishy, she practiced writing step-by-step directions while reinforcing phonics patterns and spelling skills along the way.
The best learning happens when we connect new skills to something a child already loves.
That’s the difference a personalized tutor can make. ✨

Tutoring isn’t just intervention. It’s support, confidence-building, skill development, and sometimes the difference between a child surviving school and thriving in it.
Many of the students we work with are earning good grades. Their families are looking for support with reading, writing, executive functioning, study skills, confidence, or simply helping them reach their potential.
That’s the beauty of individualized instruction 💜

Yesterday I shared how my daughter could read some long, complex words but struggled with shorter, seemingly easier ones.
Why? Because bright children often develop incredible compensatory strategies, but reading isn’t just recognizing words you’ve seen before. It’s being able to decode words you’ve never seen before.
That’s why looking at how a child reads is often more important than whether they can read the page 🤍

Summer is when confidence catches up. ☀️
Without the pressure of tests, packed schedules, and nightly homework battles, students finally have the space to slow down, build skills, and feel successful again.
Whether your child needs support with reading, writing, math, or executive functioning, summer can be the perfect time for meaningful growth.

Math homework can become frustrating fast, especially when confidence starts to drop.
These are a few things teachers wish more parents knew. 🤍

If math facts aren’t sticking, it’s not because your child “just needs to memorize more.”
It’s because they don’t fully understand how numbers work yet.
When kids build number sense, they don’t rely on guessing or counting. They actually know the answers.
That’s when math starts to feel easier 🤍

The high fives, the confidence, the “I got it” moments… this is why we do what we do. 💜📚

The students who make the most progress usually aren’t the ones aiming for perfection.
They’re the ones who slowly begin believing, “Maybe I can do this.”

Rainy days tend to bring out the “I’m bored” in kids… but they’re also the perfect chance to build executive functioning skills without them even realizing it.
Planning, problem solving, sustained attention, flexible thinking, teamwork… all happening over a simple word search at the kitchen counter. 🤍
