Au pair vs. nanny, what's the difference?🤔

German au pair Kleopatra takes a stab at answering this common question and makes it clear that au pairs and nannies are definitely not the same thing! Families welcome au pairs like extended family members and provide them with room and board and a weekly stipend. Au pairs need a private room and a way to be in touch with their host families, and get to classes and au pair events (a shared car or public transportation works!).
