Enjoyed another summer’s “Let’s Play Hooky” lunch ride with some really good food at Francesco’s and a stop at Snoopy Rock (Technically Dog Rock) in Hampden.

Dog Rock was first painted in the 1940’s, before Snoopy was created in 1950, but this rock art is commonly called Snoopy Rock. It was benn maintained and repainted for eight decades!

Summer chapter officers meeting. Such a nice day we rode for 100 miles, stopped at Long Trail in Vermont for lunch, had our meeting… and will finish the day with another 100 miles!

And we met NJ13 at Long Trail! No matter where you ride you can find another Red Knight brother!

During the Red Knights MC - Mass 1 summer cookout, Red Knight Founding Father Bob Bourassa and MA-1 President Peter Stone called up MA-2 member Charlie Clarkson for the unveiling of the dedication plaque for the RKMC Memorial Hall's access ramp.

Charlie and his late wife Joyce were members from near the start of the Red Knights. Charlie served as the first Chairman of the Board for the international, and he was the first State Representative, serving in that role for over 15 years in Massachusetts.

Charlie and Joyce could be seen crisscrossing the state and throughout New England and beyond meeting with chapters and those who wish to start chapters of their own. This two-wheeled duo was active for many miles, even as Joyce suffered from MS and needed some assistance on and off the bike.

Charlie came forward in recent years with an idea for adding an access ramp to the rear of the building, and worked with the house committee, Founding Fathers, and MA-1 to see its initial installation. Today he was recognized for his efforts and with a tip-of-the-hat to Joyce, as well, at the ramps dedication.

WOW! We’ve given out almost 100 Covered Bridge patches already this riding season! But don’t worry, we just received another order of the patches so YOU can still get one. Get out and find your 6 covered bridges and earn your patch! Get out and ride alone, with a buddy or two — or with a group from your chapter. Unable to ride any longer? Don’t worry, gather up similar members from your chapter and you can be the chase vehicle to earn your patch, even if you are just “chasing” one bike! ☺️
