The Academy High School students took a field trip today to the IVCC Campus to learn about some of the programs offered and tour the campus. The students specifically visited the Automotive, Welding, Truck Driving, and Nursing Departments. The tours were excellent and extremely informative.

A very special thank you to Art Koudelka, Automotive Instructor/Program Coordinator, and Ms. Johnson for serving as our point of contact and helping us organize the visit. Thank you to the instructors who gave of their time to visit with our students. They all were so helpful, knowledgeable, and passionate about their respective departments. We appreciate your time! Also, thank you for the delicious lunch!

It’s so important to expose our students to the many career opportunities after high school. We are lucky that Illinois Valley Community College is so close and affordable and offers a variety of programs. A day well spent.

Ms. B’s junior high class has been studying the scientific method, so the students wanted to test it. The students performed the elephant toothpaste experiment, which is a demonstration of how catalysts speed up chemical reactions. Always fun when bringing learning to life.🔬🧪

Mr. Hill’s class Monarch butterfly emerges! Such a great life science opportunity to observe the stages of a butterfly. Beautiful!

The Monarch loved it in Mr. Hill’s so much that when the class went to release it, it took a while. However, once it did, it flew high! 🧡🦋
