Encouragement for Educators

Lord, sometimes, ok, all the time, it seems easier to see the speck in other people's eyes while being oblivious to the plank in our own eye. Remind us of the grace You show us, and help us extend that same grace to those we observe. Teachers love to talk. It's likely we were the very students who pushed our teachers' buttons back in the day. Thank You for Your patience with us. In Jesus's name, we pray, amen.

Father, as we're wrapping up our school year, we're packing everything up. For the next few months, our desktops will be clean. Our desks in perfect rows. And we will bask in the quiet reflection of a year well done. We ask for rest, relaxation, and restoration over this holiday weekend and all summer long. In Jesus's name, we pray, amen.

Thank You, God, for our colleagues! Thank You for the love, laughs, support, and family You've provided us through them. Bless them with rest and relaxation this summer. Give them time to love on their families, read for fun, and simply soak up the sun. Bring us all back together safely next fall. In Jesus's name, we pray, amen.

Father, we're tired. Our students are tired. Our hearts are full. Our brains are stretched. And we're holding on for summer break. Lord, help us stay motivated and motivating until the last day of school rolls around. In Jesus's name, we pray, amen.

Lord, every year, we build a family. And at the end of every year, we watch them take off in different directions. It's hard to understand the bonds we build in such a short time. Lord, give us joy in knowing we've built into the lives of our students before they move on to their next little family. In Jesus's name, we pray, amen.

Father, tonight we pray for the educators trying to make it to summer break. They've made it through all their mandatory standards, and now they're trying to keep students' attention by trying off the script ideas. Lord, give them a fresh idea that will succeed so they can celebrate more than the end of a school year. In Jesus's name, we pray, amen.

Lord, we lift up prayers for all educators setting an alarm for tomorrow morning. Give them a good night's rest tonight. Help them easily locate all the outfits, bags, and lunches to lay out for tomorrow morning. God, give them dreams that encourage them rather than terrify them. Give them an easy morning and a blessed Monday to kick off the week. In Jesus's name, we pray, amen.

Father, tonight we ask a special blessing over the educator who controlled their tongue this week when they could have said, "I told you so!" to a student. Give them a little extra sunshine and goodness this weekend. And let that student appreciate what their teachers say from this point forward. In Jesus's name, we pray, amen.

Father, tonight we lift up the educators who are killin' it in the classroom but aren't hearing their names shouted from the rooftops. In all truth, they'd be horribly embarrassed if people were singing their praises. But, Lord, they deserve recognition for the work they do. The miracles they work. The lives they impact through the work of their hands. Bless them, O Lord, we pray. Amen.

Lord, tonight we lift up the teachers who are building the plane as they're flying it. They're creating units, lessons, and all the documents and assessments that go with it. And sometimes they do all the work just in time for the most amazing plan to come together, and they have to trash all their hard work in order to offer students something better. Lord, remind them that their work is worth it. And give them an unlimited supply of copies weekly! In Jesus's name, we pray, amen.

Lord, thank you for our students. We've loved them fiercely this year. And we're a bit sad that they're moving on. Bless the teacher inheriting our babies next year. Give them each the eight fit. In Jesus's name, we pray, amen.

Jesus, sometimes educators tell fibs to get the information they need for everyone to be safe at school. It's probably not the spiritually correct way, but we've found it gets the job done. Help us to protect everyone in our care today. Continue to teach and mold us to be in Your image. In Jesus's name, we pray, amen.
