Over his four years at Chesterton Academy, Eli has enjoyed Junior Literature, where he studied Dante’s Divine Comedy. Fatima is a parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church in La Salle, IL and is a member of House Athanasius. She transferred to Chesterton Academy in her junior year and of the courses which she has taken, has most enjoyed Junior Literature and Choir. In Junior Literature, she has been compelled by the theme of humanity’s search for truth and has enjoyed the depth of perspective studied in this course. She has also enjoyed Choir for the sense of community that it developed as well as the joy of being part of something great and beautiful. A meaningful lesson that Fatima has learned over her time at Chesterton Academy is the important relationship between gratitude and joy. According to Fatima, “Gratitude is the precedent of joy and it stops us from taking meaningful things for granted”. She has also learned the value of the growth that happens in moments where we are asked to step outside of our comfort zone. Fatima has welcomed opportunities for growth as she has embraced the role of Prefect for House Athanasius this school year. Outside of school, Fatima can be found outdoors or spending time with friends. After graduating from Chesterton Academy, Fatima plans to begin studying Biochemistry at Bradley University in Peoria, IL.

Caleb is a parishioner at St. Mary of Lourdes in Germantown Hills and a member of House Augustine at Chesterton Academy. He has been a student at Chesterton Academy for his junior and senior years and during this time Caleb also entered the Catholic Church! The course that Caleb has enjoyed most at Chesterton Academy is Philosophy 12, which has shaped his understanding of reason and developed his understanding of modern society’s view of reality. Over his time at Chesterton Academy, Caleb has come to value even more the opinions of others and the truths that lie within their reasoning. Outside of Chesterton Academy, Caleb can be found playing strategy games, fermenting his own kimchi and kombucha, and spending time with friends from school. Caleb plans to study Carpentry at the College of St. Joseph the Worker in Steubenville, OH after he concludes his senior year at Chesterton Academy.
