Our 3rd–6th grade students were given the opportunity to explore our very own Pensacola Historic Village. Students learned about our nation’s first settlement while being immersed in early colonists’ daily lives. And in true classical fashion, sang as they dipped candles. God's people are singing people. It was a great day!

"O Kings and Ladies, I have been wandering to find him and my happiness is so great that it even weakens me like a wound. And this is the marvel of marvels, that he called me Beloved, me who am but as a dog."

During their Omnibus class, 7th grade students engage in fruitful, in-depth discussion through theology, history and literature. This week, students are studying C.S. Lewis' The Last Battle.

“BUT Peter, who was very naughty, ran straight away to Mr. McGregor's garden and squeezed under the gate!” - The Tale of Peter Rabbit

Yesterday, Mrs. Butler’s kindergarten class enjoyed a Peter Rabbit Feast Day inspired by the works of Beatrix Potter.

Our kindergartners shared a feast in “Mr. McGregor’s garden,” then hopped outside for a special treat.

There, our 1st and 2nd grade classes joined in for a bunny and chick petting zoo, provided by Bunnychick Haven of Navarre.

It was a delightful and memorable experience for all!

Narnia Day for our 3rd and 7th grade classes! A big thanks to Emerald Coast Blades for coming out and giving a fantastic demonstration on fencing and for letting our students try their hand at it.

"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit."

Mrs. Redish brought Bilbo's adventure to life for our 4th graders during their Hobbit Feast Day. Crafts were made, games were played, and of course, a hobbit-approved feast was eaten. Bringing literature to life is part of what makes a classical education so special.

Box car derby for the 7th grade class! Students thought through Newton's three laws of motion as they made box cars out of cardboard, popsicle sticks, glue, tape and foam. They thought about mass and gravitational force as they made their designs.

They then went head-to-head with one another as they recorded time and distanced traveled to see who designed the fastest car.

Finally, they saw Newton's first law in action as they crashed their vehicles and watched what happened to their passangers.

At PRCA, we wholeheartedly believe that education should support the sanctification of young disciples of Jesus Christ.

All truth is God's truth, and this reality should saturate all teaching and all subjects all the time.

"One of the reasons why a classical education can be challenging is that classical teachers seek to stretch the student’s ability to muse. Musing isn’t easy. There are legions of amusing things to distract us from the True, the Good, and the Beautiful. The “a” prefix means “without” or “not”—so if “muse” means to turn our minds on in order to deeply consider something, then “amuse” means turning them off. Amusement is mentally cheap and requires little from us, yet our culture has a smorgasbord of offerings to cause the eyes to glaze over.”
