The last couple of weeks have been incredibly special.

Seeing the words being placed alongside the illustrations has transformed Little Skunk & Friends: A Story About Belonging from a manuscript into a real book. Each design update makes the story come alive in a new way.

Once all the finishing touches are complete, the files will head to the printer- What a milestone!

This journey has reminded me that creating something meaningful takes time, patience, collaboration, attention to detail, and a lot of heart. I’m so grateful to everyone who has been part of bringing this story to life.

Little Skunk and Friends is taking another step forward! 🦨📚

From story ideas to merchandise designs, this dream is becoming a reality. Every day brings us one step closer to publication, and I am so grateful for the support and encouragement along the way.

I can’t wait to introduce you to these special friends! ✨Merchandise is now available in my Groovy Educator eBay store. I’m so grateful for the illustrations by Alayna Maria. She has brought these characters to life!

When life gets difficult, choose to look for the good.

Several years ago, my family was involved in a head-on collision. In the midst of fear and uncertainty, I remembered something that Fred Rogers once said: “Look for the helpers.”

That simple advice changed my perspective. Instead of focusing only on the crash, I began to notice the people who showed up with kindness, courage, and compassion. The first responders, the medical staff, the strangers who cared—those helpers reminded me that even in the hardest moments, there is still goodness in the world.

Life will always have challenges, but we can choose where we focus our attention. When things feel overwhelming, look for the helpers. And when you can, be one.

Life is a gift, even on the hard days.

As an educator, I strive to help children cultivate a growth mindset by encouraging them to choose joy, focus on the positive, and believe in their ability to grow through challenges.

The hard days matter too — they build resilience, empathy, perseverance, and strength. Sometimes the smallest encouragement can make the biggest difference in a child’s life.

Every day is another opportunity to learn, grow, and spread kindness. 💛
