Katrina Delaney

I am a member of the Pembroke School Committee elected in May of 2024. As a proud product of Pembroke Public Schools, I am committed to ensuring that our schools thrive. Here's a bit about me...
My family moved to Pembroke in 1996 for the great public schools. I attended PPS from 2nd through 12th grade. After graduating from Bridgewater State University in 2013, I began my career as an educator as

a long term substitute Special Education Teacher's Aide in Whitman-Hanson Public Schools. Later that year, I moved to Washington, DC to continue my work as an educator. As part of my teacher training that summer, I taught in Philadelphia Public Schools and began my Master's Program in Special Education at George Mason University. When I came back to DC later that summer, I got the first job I applied for in South East DC's Anacostia Neighborhood, teaching at an all girls school called Excel Academy. I had almost twenty children on my caseload my first year teaching. I still talk to some of the families I worked with from that time. Those kids have since graduated from high school, which is hard to believe! I have 9 years of Direct Experience as a Public School Teacher and Administrator; having served as a Special Education Teacher's Aide, Special Education Teacher, General Education Teacher, Special Education Coordinator, and Campus Director of Special Education. My passion for education led me to found Empowered Pathways in March 2022, a small business designed to support and guide families through the complexities of special education. Through my advocacy, I have worked tirelessly to protect the rights of children with disabilities, ensuring they receive the services they need to succeed. I have presented workshops on IEP procedures and rights, as well as volunteered countless hours to help families navigate the educational system through my work with FCSN and Mass Advocates for Children. I am on the school committee because I believe in the power of education to change lives. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve the students of Pembroke in this capacity and proud to give back to the same school district that gave me the opportunities I have today.

There are many people out enjoying our wonderful sidewalks and streets—walking, running, and riding bicycles. Please slow down, stay alert, and be mindful of those around you.

Watch carefully at crosswalks, when turning, and when entering or exiting businesses and parking lots. A few extra seconds of attention can make all the difference.
