This week, our students had an amazing time at their Field Days! Our 2nd and 3rd graders enjoyed a fun-filled day at Maxey Park, while our 4th and 5th graders stayed at Zavala and cooled off on exciting water slides. They’ve worked so hard all year and truly earned every moment of fun! 🧡💛💙💜

Our 4th grade students brought Texas pride to the stage during their Texas Heritage Program, celebrating the music, history, and spirit of the Lone Star State. They filled the stage with smiles, strong voices, and plenty of Eagle pride. ❤️🤍💙

For 27 years, Brenda Laila Rosete has dedicated her career to helping students grow, gain confidence, and believe in their own potential. 💜🤍💛

As a 4th grade math and science teacher at Zavala Elementary, Ms. Rosete brings patience, purpose, and care into her classroom each day. Her work is rooted in helping every student succeed, especially those who may not always see their own strengths right away.

Being selected as Teacher of the Year is a meaningful honor for Ms. Rosete, and one she sees as a reflection of the students, colleagues, and school community who have supported her along the way.

“It affirms my commitment to helping every student succeed and inspires me to grow, collaborate, and make a positive impact beyond my classroom,” Rosete shared.

For Ms. Rosete, the most rewarding moments come when students who once doubted themselves begin to succeed, celebrate their achievements, and truly believe in what they can do.

We kicked off Teacher Appreciation Week with a heartfelt activity—giving our teachers the chance to show appreciation for one another! 🫶🏼

There’s something special about educators lifting each other up, and this was a great reminder of the strong, supportive community we have. Grateful for all they do every single day!
