🎾 A great start to the season at Sweetwater!

Last Friday, we kicked off our first Community Block Party of the season — and our first of many at Sweetwater Tennis Center!

We loved welcoming so many new faces and families, connecting with the community, and seeing new registrations and interest in AYTEF programming. It was such a fun and refreshing evening for our families and staff!

All of our remaining Fall Block Parties will be held at Sweetwater, and we can’t wait to keep the fun going! 🎉

🎾 Meet Teryon Newbold-Hudson, AYTEF’s Tennis Director!

Teryon’s journey with AYTEF began as a volunteer and grew into coaching our student-athletes before he stepped into the role of Tennis Director in January 2026.

With more than two decades of experience in tennis, including playing Division II collegiate tennis at Tuskegee University, Teryon brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion for developing young players.

As Tennis Director, Teryon leads the development and quality of AYTEF’s tennis programming, ensuring that affordable and accessible opportunities never come at the expense of high-quality instruction. His focus is on developing the whole athlete—helping our players build their tennis skills, confidence, and love for the game both on and off the court.

We’re proud to have Coach T leading the way as we continue creating high-quality tennis opportunities for youth throughout our community! 💙

🎾 Bringing Tennis Directly to Our Schools!

AYTEF’s Tennis-In-Schools (TIS) Program makes tennis and enrichment more accessible by bringing FREE after-school programming directly to students at our partner schools!

We have worked alongside Fair Oaks Elementary since 2024 and LaBelle Elementary since September 2025, creating opportunities for students to learn tennis right at their school. This September, we’re excited to expand TIS to Green Acres Elementary in response to growing demand and our commitment to serving more Title I schools within our community. 🎉

Since launching TIS, we have served 69 students — and we’re just getting started!

It’s not too late to join us this fall! If your student attends one of our partner schools, you can still register them for the Fall TIS season today at www.aytef.org/tennis-in-the-schools!

Did you know GameSetMatch is now for HIGH SCHOOL students? 🎾

AYTEF’s GameSetMatch (GSM) is our year-round tennis and education program designed to help young players grow on and off the court through tennis training, academic support, leadership development, and life skills.

And now, GameSetMatch is expanding to grades 9–12!

Our new GSM High School Program gives teens a supportive community to develop their tennis game while building skills for success in school and beyond. Students can participate in either a recreational or competitive group based on their experience and goals.

AYTEF’s 8th Annual Regions Bank Golf Tournament is coming up on October 5, 2026, and we need volunteers to help make the day a success!

From event setup and check-in to supporting activities throughout the tournament, there are plenty of ways to get involved.

"What drew you to AYTEF?"

We asked Alex, one of our tennis coaches, what inspired her to join AYTEF—and her answer is exactly what our mission is all about.

As a nonprofit organization, AYTEF is committed to making tennis accessible to every child by providing high-quality tennis and education programs at a low or no cost. We believe every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Designed for high school students of all skill levels, this program combines tennis, personal growth, and community in a fun and supportive environment.

To celebrate, we're hosting a FREE High School Kick-Off Event where families can enjoy tennis, games, music, snacks, and learn how to get involved!
