Today was a big day at Pea Ridge High School! Every PRHS student officially began Leader in Me as part of our Student Success Mondays.

Throughout the year, students will work through FranklinCovey’s 7 Habits while developing skills that go far beyond the classroom: taking ownership, setting goals, communicating effectively, building strong relationships, working with others, and making intentional choices about their futures.

And that’s exactly why Leader in Me belongs in College, Career & Community Readiness.

Whether a student’s next step is college, career, military, technical training, or another path, these are skills they’ll take with them wherever they go.

Today was just the beginning. 🌱

🏗️ ACE IS BACK AT PEA RIDGE!

Does your student enjoy designing, building, creating, problem-solving, or simply wondering how things work?

The ACE Mentor Program of Arkansas gives Pea Ridge students the opportunity to explore careers in Architecture, Construction & Engineering while learning directly from professionals working in these fields.

And here's the important part: students don't have to know exactly what they want to do after high school. That's what opportunities like ACE are for: exploring possibilities, discovering new interests, and making connections along the way.

Through ACE, students can gain exposure to:

🔨 Hands-on projects
🤝 Industry mentors
🏢 Real-world career experiences
🎓 Scholarship opportunities
💼 Internships and networking

🎉 BIG NEWS FOR PEA RIDGE STUDENTS!

We are excited to share that Pea Ridge School District has been awarded a new grant from the Walton Family Foundation to continue expanding College, Career & Community Readiness opportunities for our students!

This investment will allow us to build on the work already underway, strengthen partnerships with business and industry, and continue creating meaningful experiences that connect what students learn in school to the opportunities waiting for them beyond graduation.

From career exploration and workforce readiness to stronger community partnerships and real-world learning, we are excited about what comes next.

When education, industry, and community come to the same table, students win. ❤️🖤

This summer, Pea Ridge School District hosted our inaugural Workforce & Education Summit, bringing together students, educators, business and industry leaders, community partners, and postsecondary representatives from across Northwest Arkansas.

But this wasn't just an event. It was a conversation.

We listened to our students. We listened to employers. We talked about the skills our students need, the opportunities available right here in our region, and how schools and businesses can work together to better prepare students for life after graduation.

From teacher externships and real-world experiences to stronger workforce connections and new partnerships, the conversations that began that afternoon are already opening doors.

And perhaps most importantly, our students had a voice in the room. ❤️

The Summit may have lasted one afternoon, but the work is just beginning.

While our classrooms have been quiet this summer, our College, Career & Community Readiness team has been hard at work preparing for an incredible school year.

⭐ Awarded a new Walton Family Foundation grant to expand student opportunities
⭐ Training on Arkansas's new LAUNCH Student Success Platform
⭐ Learning leadership strategies through FranklinCovey's Leader in Me

Every opportunity, every partnership, and every lesson is designed with one goal in mind:

🚀 Join Us for the Inaugural Pea Ridge Workforce & Education Summit!

What does the future workforce in Northwest Arkansas look like? More importantly, how can we work together to prepare today's students for tomorrow's opportunities?

On Wednesday, July 22, Pea Ridge Schools is bringing together educators, employers, business leaders, and community partners for an afternoon of collaboration focused on building stronger connections between schools and the workforce.

You'll hear from community leaders, including:
✅ Keith Martin, Superintendent, Pea Ridge School District
✅ Mayor Nathan See, City of Pea Ridge
✅ Jeremy Biggs, Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce

We'll also hear from employer leaders representing healthcare, construction, manufacturing, and utilities, followed by student perspectives and table discussions designed to turn ideas into action.

Whether you're a business owner, employer, educator, community leader, or simply passionate about the future of our students, your voice belongs at the table.

Why is Pea Ridge hosting a Workforce & Education Summit?

Because preparing students for the future takes all of us.

Schools play an important role, but so do employers, community organizations, industry leaders, local government, and workforce partners. When students have opportunities to connect classroom learning to real careers, they are better prepared to make informed decisions about their futures.

The Pea Ridge Workforce & Education Summit was created to bring those groups together to strengthen career awareness, career preparation, and workforce opportunities for students.

Whether it's a guest speaker, industry tour, internship, job shadow, apprenticeship, community service project, or classroom partnership, every connection matters.

Pea Ridge 9th grader Andrea McCandless is being recognized for her strong work ethic, growth, and dedication in the classroom! ❤️🖤

Andrea has a passion for education and aspires to become a teacher one day. She is already taking steps toward her future by creating learning resources and materials that can be used by her mom and other educators.

Her creativity, initiative, and willingness to go above and beyond make her a great example of what it means to be future ready.
