I thought I knew how to use a pistol for the early part of my life to defend myself. The strange thing about that statement is people think they just need to know how to use a pistol. Once you have some training and study the process you quickly realize using the pistol is an important part, but a small part of the equation.
It's like saying I know how to use a hammer so now I can build a house.

I hope you and me never have to use a pistol to defend our lives because you can know all the right stuff and still lose. It's not like the movies. The best way to survive a dynamic critical incident is not to get in one.

But if you find yourself in one, you better know as much about the process as you possibly can.
