Club president Jim Zebrowski caught this awesome picture of the supermoon very early this morning with his Seestar 50! On average, the moon is 238,900 miles away, but during this supermoon time, it is "only" 221,817 miles away. If the weather clears up, you can still see this beautiful sight over the next couple days as it begins to wane.

Join us on Thursday, August 7 at 6:30PM at the Beals Memorial Library in Winchendon for a public program! Presenter Aldrich president Jim Zebrowski will allow participants to explore and better understand the night sky using all the wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum available to astronomers and space explorers!

Following the talk, and weather permitting, the library’s telescope will be used for star gazing in an area where there is a good view of the night sky.

Don't forget about our talk at the Fobes Memorial Library this Saturday! Learn about the night sky, and what's what up in the cosmos. This is a very beginner friendly all-ages program! Plus, get a personal tour of the library telescope--which you can take out of the library with your regular card, just like a book!
