The Boys hosted the Kalamazoo Cougars tonight. The Jv kicked off the night with a competitive game that ended in a 0-0 tie. Varsity followed up with a physical and competitive game. The first half was physical with back and forth play but the teams went into half time 0-0. The second half the Red Wolves came out on the attack. The boys got on the scoreboard first as the ball was played out wide to Hannes Otto who played a long cross to Chase Boff. Chase settled the ball and hit a cross body shot back post for the 1-0 lead. The Cougars equalized off of a corner kick but the boys responded. The ball got played up to Connor Graves with his back to the goal. Connor beautifully flicked the ball over his shoulder to Chase running full speed through the box. Chase volleyed the shot into the back post for a 2-1 lead. In the last minutes of the game the Cougars tied the game on a free kick. The Red Wolves had a couple of chances but couldn’t get the go ahead goal as the game ended in a 2-2 tie. The boys look forward to their next game Thursday at home vs Mattawan.
