Announced this morning, Studio Ghibli’s long discussed theme park finally has an opening date of 2022 in Japan. The park is going to be developed at the 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park in Nagakute City, home of the Earth Exhibition from 13 years ago. The rendering looks like it’ll be indoors, but since these are animated worlds we are talking about, a controlled environment isn’t such a bad thing.

A nice follow-up to yesterday's event post about emerging tech. The LA Times writes about last weekend's eventful THEA awards, where immersive guest experiences from all over the world were celebrated under one roof. Ranging from cultural centers to brand experiences, one key thread across all presenters was the importance of creating something meaningful.
