It was so nice meeting the entire Bread and Butter Kitchen crew today! β€οΈ
As a business owner, you have to be open to learning from other business owners, especially those with more experience. You can't be the teacher until you've first been a student. Talking with Monica and her amazing team motivated me to work even harder to make Bori a success.
As we prepare for our August 28th pop-up, I ask those who will be attending for a little patience and grace. We expect it to be a very busy evening, and we are going to do our absolute best to serve everyone as quickly and efficiently as possible while supplies last.
Thank you all for your continued support. It truly means the world to me. β€οΈπ΅π·
Also, if anyone would like to volunteer some of their time to help that evening, please send me a message. I'd love to hear from you!
Good morning family. I want to thank everyone that stopped by yesterday. I have some half tray catering orders this weekend but after that I will be closed for about a week and taking a mental health break. I struggled this week but I made it through with the support of some amazing people I have in my life. I'm so grateful. I Wil let you know what frozen items I have soon and if you need Farina in the mornings please let me know 2 days prior. Have a great weekend and I will see you soonπ

Good morning, I stopped taking orders for today but I may have more food after everyone's orders are gone... so this post will be for those that would like to be contacted if there's any more food left. ANNAPOLIS! BORI π΅π· HAS ENTERED THE CHAT!
I have some BIG news to share with you all. π₯Ήβ€οΈπ΅π·
And honestly, the way this opportunity came to me makes it even more special.
Just the other day, I texted my husband and told him that I felt like a failure. I felt like I was quitting on my business by making the decision to sell my food trailer. Even though I knew I had my reasons for stepping away, it was still hard not to feel like I had failed at something I worked so incredibly hard to build.
I had absolutely NO idea that just a few hours later, I would be offered an opportunity that could completely change the future of Bori.
That same day, we sat down with Monica, the owner of Bread and Butter Kitchen , a fellow Veteran-owned business. During our conversation, she expressed that she wanted to offer her kitchen space to me during the hours that she isn't open. Because her business is primarily breakfast and I normally take my orders in the evening, she thought it could be a great opportunity for me and for Bori.
What means the most to me is knowing that this came from such a genuine place. She simply wants to help me grow as a business owner and wants to see Bori succeed. I don't think she realizes how much that means to me, especially considering what I had told my husband just HOURS before that conversation. π₯Ή
Sometimes you think one chapter ending means the entire story is overβ¦ when really, God may just be redirecting you toward something you never saw coming. ππ½β€οΈ
We went to see the space the very next day, and WE LOVED IT.
So I am incredibly excited to announce thatβ¦
ππ΅π· BORI'S FIRST POP-UP AT BREAD AND BUTTER KITCHEN WILL BE AUGUST 28TH! π΅π·π
And hopefully, this is only the beginning.
If our first pop-up is successful, we will plan another one. From there, the goal is to continue doing pop-ups here and there and potentially make this a permanent pop up location for Bori until we grow into our own space. π₯Ήβ€οΈ
We will also STILL have the food truck! During the warmer months, you will still see Bori out there. During the winter, the truck will be closed, which makes having a kitchen space like this such an amazing opportunity for us.
I'm trying not to get too far ahead of myself and just take this one step at a time. But I can't help myself.
Maybe I wasn't failing....Maybe I was just being redirected. β€οΈ
So now I need my Bori family more than ever. August 28th is our first step. Come out, support us, eat some good Puerto Rican food, and help us show just how much love and support this little business has behind it. π΅π·β€οΈ
More information about the August 28th pop-up, including the menu, times, and ordering details, will be coming VERY soon.
Thank you to everyone who has continued to support me and Bori through every version of this journey.
I really thought I was closing a door.
Turns out, another one was already opening. π₯Ήππ½π΅π·
BORI ISN'T DONE. We're just entering a new chapter. β€οΈ

Family! I have 2 big announcements but I can only share 1 right now and will save the best for later on hopefully. You all know I have been battling with mental health and i have been getting alot of help and going to therapy every week and group every morning. I have been doing my very best to bring peace and happiness back into my life and I have been doing better. Am I healed completely? No, I have a long road ahead of me.
I have decided that I will not be selling my food trailer and Bori will continue. This doesn't mean that I will be accepting pop up requests. I will be working my way back slowly, on my own time to avoid extra stress. I love what I've built to let it go so easily. I worked too hard, I've cried so many times, I've had sleepless nights, late nights, early mornings and many proud moments the last few years and I can't bring myself to let it go. I was given a gift to share my cooking with the people in this county and those that travel from outside of the county and even the state and that alone is a blessing.
You will see us back on the road possibly in the beginning of the new year but hopefully sooner. I know that sounds far but don't worry, I have more news coming today or tomorrow.
Another thing I want to announce, I am not getting any orders coming in for pastelillos so I'm going to change it up. Starting today I will be taking orders for next Wednesday between 4 and 8pm for pernil plates, pastelillos (beef, chicken, cheese) and alcapurria de yuca. Please send a message with your order, and a time, early time slots fill fast.
Pernil- $18
Pastelillos- $4
Alcapurria- $4
Big announcement tomorrow, GOODNIGHTβ₯οΈ
